Great article Shane. As a biz dev guy the part I absorbed the most was your advice to entrepreneurs. Our CEO, Joe Sriver, DoApp, Inc. is early Google and has much the same philosophy that you described. Keep up the good work and I invite you to check out ours as well…

Thanks for posting this interview – some really good information that indeed has got me pumped to try out the SDK. I’d be curious about how the relative ease with which iPhone developers can bring apps to market (given the SDK, distribution channels, business model, etc.) affects decisions for initial feature sets, application ‘road maps’, rolling out updates, etc. I.e. is it worth taking, for example, four weeks ( as opposed to the 1-2 Shane stated) to add in a couple extra features, or given the iPhone app ecosystem, does it make sense to put something compelling and robust out the door as soon as possible and update later…
