What Mortal Kombat video games where you involved in? What did you do? How did you get involved with this?
Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance, Mortal Kombat Deception, Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks, Mortal Kombat Armageddon, and Mortal Kombat 8 (title pending). I performed motion capture for several characters. I also perform and do the martial arts choreography for the cinematic intro for each game. My main instructor Daniel Pesina played the original Johny Kage, Scorpion, and Sub-Zero. His brother, Carlos Pesina, was the original Raiden and still works for Midway Games. When Midway Games for looking for new martial artists to perform for the new generation of motion captured Mortal Kombats, I was invited to audition for the part. I did some routines in front of the MK team including Ed Boon and the rest is history. Nowadays they just give me a call when they need me, and I just a few days off my day job.

What belt do you have?
Strictly speaking traditional chinese martial arts does not have a belt system. Most of my instructors who are China taught and trained do not believe in it since there is no standardization. Their belief is your skill is displayed on the floor every time you perform and train. People should be able to tell your skill level just by looking at you whether you are a beginner, intermediate or master. However, for the purposes of adapting to Western culture and expectations, they’ve awarded me with a second degree black belt.

What kind of name is Pek?
It’s Thai. My father is Thai and my mother is Thai of Chinese descent. Pek doesn’t really meaning anything as far as I know. Actually it might mean bottle cap. It’s not unusual that Thai nicknames have silly or no meaning.

What do you do at Accenture Technology Labs?
It’s so hard to describe jobs these days so I’ll just tell you what stuff I’ve worked on. I create next gen prototypes of web applications. I focus on RIAs (rich internet applications). I created the Accenture Technology Labs RSS Screensaver back in 2004. It did ok. I stopped counting at over 10000 downloads. I’ve created a prototype for an enterprise visual document search engine. I’ve developed prototype and mockup RIAs for clients to show them possibilities. My areas of expertise include HCI and data visualization.

You’ve lived in many countries. How many languages do you know?
Technically only two: Thai and English. But at different points in my life I could speak Malay, Italian, and French. They all fell into disuse. I can still understand some of these, but finding the words is difficult. I also understand a bit of Mandarin due to my kung fu background. But if you count programming languages then the number quickly climbs up.
